Up today we’ve got a total of four plays (2 NBA, 1 NHL, 1 college hoops) plus side and total opinions on the NFL Monday Night Football game and the Independence Bowl. Free play in the NBA:

Portland -6′ over Philadelphia

Sixers will get Allen Iverson back here, but we don’t expect that to help much against a Blazers team that is starting to ‘gel’ despite injuries. They’ve won 6 of their L7 straight up going 6-0-1 ATS while the Sixers have failed to cover in 7 of their last 9. Portland knows that they need to take advantage of ‘easy’ home games to stay competitive in the tough as nails Western Conference and we expect this game to go much like Utah’s game against Philly on Saturday night. Blazers win and cover easily.

Big day of action for clients with seven total plays–one each in the NHL, NBA and College football and four plays in the NFL. We’ll give you one of the NFL plays for our free play:

Kansas City +13′ over Cincinnati

Bengals have failed to cover in five of six spots as a favorite this year. They’re having problems scoring points right now, and that makes it even more difficult for them to get a margin here. Factor in the tough emotional situation following the funeral of Chris Henry this week and it looks like a good spot for the underdog.

Clients will be receiving a total of six plays for today along with our side and total recommendations on all three college football bowl games. Our free play today will be in the Little Caesars Pizza Bowl between Ohio and Marshall, which goes at 10 AM Pacific Time. Check back later as we may add a second free play for nighttime action:

Ohio -3 over Marshall

Bad X’s and O’s matchup for the Thundering Herd, as they’ve got a poor passing defense (ranked 99th nationally) and should be easy pickings for a well rounded and efficient Ohio offense led by QB Theo Scott and his deep wide receiver corps. Bobcats’ head coach Frank Solich one of the more underrated in college football, particularly in his preparation. That edge will be compounded by a Marshall team that had head coach Mark Snyder resign at the end of the season. They’ve already hired a replacement, but the Herd will be coached here by assistant Rick Mitner who reportedly wasn’t even considered to fill the vacancy. With Snyder’s replacement, John ‘Doc’ Holliday coming from outside of the program (West Virginia) there’s a good chance he’ll replace many of the current coaching staff. Can’t imagine that Marshall’s preparation will be adequate for this game with much of the current coaching staff focused on their future employment. The mood of the team is reflected in the fact that they’ve sold only 30% of their ticket allotment for this game while Ohio sold all of theirs. Ohio has all of the tactical advantages as well as the emotional edge.

Free play today in the NFL. Clients have received a total of three plays, with one each in college hoops, the NBA and NFL:

San Diego +3 over Tennessee

In a matchup of two of the hottest teams in the NFL, we’ll go with the Chargers who have a more well rounded offense and have done more against better teams than has Tennessee.
